Peter's 2nd Birthday

My parents had gotten the boys some Jay Jay the Jet Plane movies to watch on the computer for Peter's birthday. They are a cute series of airplanes that talk and learn lessons along the way. The thing that I like the most is that they are a Christian series. After watching one movie with them, my mom helped me get my day ready and hang up some things that were waiting to be hung up. The boys have alittle bit of a runny nose so I did not want to take them out much, the wind was alittle cold as well. My sister and I did take them for a walk. Then the boys played and watched Jay Jay some more before going to bed. My sister stayed home until we all left for the shop. She made a special meal of grilled cheese sandwiches and french fries for Peter's birthday. When the boys got up, we all headed for the shop. The boys were so excited about going and seeing gamma, gampa, and daddy at the shop. We ate as soon as we got there and the boys loved watching animal videos on the computer. The boys loved to play with the cellphones, the toys that are in the front of the shop, and with everyone at the shop. Joshua got to come home early with the boys and I. The boys love it when Joshua comes home early to play with them. They had a great time together playing with the hot wheels cars. We had a wonderful day celebrating Peter's 2nd birthday. God has truly blessed us with our boys. I know that these are not birthday party pictures, but they are picture that I took on his birthday and I think that they are so cute.

Paul At The Cell Phone Shop

Paul loves to play with cell phones. He is constantly taking my cell phone whenever I leave it. He puts it to his ear and "talks" into the phone. It is so cute seeing him do this. He loves to press buttons as well. Paul especially loves being at the shop where he can hold and play with the cell phones. He is our cute little mascott. Here are some movies of him playing with a cell phone.

Cell Phone Talk

Joshua took this movie of Paul talking on a play cellphone. We got him a smart phone toy and he loves to play with it and pretend like he is talking. Its nice to hear him say words and even try new words.

Update On Us

I have very good news. The Lord has been so faithful to us concerning the cell phone shop. The business has picked up so much!!!! It is harder to talk to my mom during the day. Jeff and Jeff have been a tremendous help to us, we don't know what we would do without them. We are hoping and praying that business will stay this way. Please also pray for strength for my mom. She is having a hard time with working outside of the home and often comes home tired. Thank you Lord for always being faithful to those you love!!! And thank you for all your prayers. Please pray for us that we would not get sick, or if we do that we won't get it that bad. It is very hard to work when you don't feel good. The boys have not been feeling good, making it hard on mommy. Otherwise we are all doing fine and keeping busy and out of trouble.

Update On Us

How blessed we feel that God let us move to Colorado and that we were able to do it as a family. Even though we don't get to spend too much time together, we feel just as close as we always have. God has blessed us termendously. He provided a house, business at the shop, and friends. The shop has been going well. It seems like whenever I go over there they are busy. Even when I call my mom to talk to her. I don't get over very often, though I am going to try so that I can help out in the violin shop. It has helped alot having Jeff and Jeff at the shop to help us. They are getting to know the trade so well that it takes less stress on my parents and Joshua. It is so nice to see them relaxing more and not having so many late nights. Just today my dad said that they must be getting more customers and better at their work because without them they would be swamped. It seemed like they had 5 or 6 people at a time! We love our new house and love being able to make it our own. We love the neighborhood and our backyard. It is so nice to have a place to call our own. We feel so blessed with our new friends and church family. We could not have done all these things without them. They seem always willing to lend a hand. God is so amazing that He knows what you need before you know or say anything. Thank you God for all Your wonderful blessings. And thank all of you for keeping in touch through this blog and for all your prayers. We are doing fine, except that we seem to be getting this cold over and over again. God bless you all.

Update On Us

Hi everyone. I hope this finds you well. We have been busy with life, plus we don't have internet access at our new house. So the only way I would be able to blog is if I go to the shop. But there is only one problem. The boys have been sick for the past two weeks with a bad cold. So lets see if I can recap for you all. On Thanksgiving we worked over at the house until 1:00 pm when Joshua, my sister, the boys and I went over to our Pastors house to eat. My parents stayed at the house and ran some errands. We did not really feel like celebrating. And eat we did, the boys were fussy and we had alot to do so we soon left after. That weekend all of us moved over to the new house and were still unpacking. On Tuesday, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, some friends of our brought us a Thanksgiving dinner because they felt bad that we were not able to celebrate. It was a very special time, they eat with us and we had so much fun. Then the boys got sick, Paul the worst. They had stuffy, runny noses, fevers, coughs. And we still unpacked because we are going to have a yard sale. Joshua and I spent some time putting up Christmas lights, though we did have some problems with where to get the power. We decorated the house for Christmas. We got our trees yesterday. That's about it. Please pray that the boys would get better and that the rest of us would stay well. That the shop would continue to pick us. And that we would be able to enjoy the holidays coming up.
P.S. We have asked the two Jeffs, the two families that bought us Thanksgiving dinner, to help at the shop. They are having alot of fun learning and we are so grateful for the extra help as we are all tiring out from all the work. So that's a praise.

101 Things Not To Do To A Cell Phone

Here is a continuation of the list of things NOT to do to a cell phone:

21. Don't let your baby drool on your cell phone.
22. Don't let your dog chew on your cell phone (especially poodles).
23. Don't test the amps while phone is charging, you might short it.
24. When throwing your cell phone, make sure that it is your cell phone, before throwing it across the room.
25. Don't fall off your motorcycle with your cell phone.
26. Don't go skating and fall down with your cell phone in your back pocket.
27. Don't fall in the pond with your cell phone.
28. Don't use your cell phone while giving your child a bath.
29. Don't try to text someone by holding your cell phone out the window (because your battery was low) while driving on the freeway. It might just drop out of your hands.
30. Don't drop your cell phone while getting out of the car to confront the person who backed into you, and have your cell phone run over by a car.
31. Don't have your cell phone in your pocket while using power tools, you might drill a hole in it. Of course, this guy was blessed that he drilled in his cell phone instead of his leg.
32. Don't kneel on your cell phone when you are trying to protect it while working on construction.
33. Don't use your cell phone as a hacky sack.
34. Don't work under a blown propane truck after the firefighter put it out. It can cause water damage, especially when it falls out and lands in a puddle.
35. Don't let your cat play with your cell phone. They might just drop it in the water.
36. Don't set your cell phone on the counter where it can get wet while you are in the kitchen. It could cause water damage.
37. Don't get excited about something, forget your cell phone is in your pocket, and jump into the ocean.
38. Don't put your cell phone in your back pocket and forget its there and sit down.
39. If you have a dog that likes to chew, don't buy a Blackberry cell phone.
40. Don't let your one year old get ahold of it and throw it across the room.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I did writing them down to post. God Bless.

Happy Birthday Grandpa!!!

Today is grandpa Steed's birthday. He spent most of the day at the new house painting because the carpet is going to be installed on Friday. Grandpa is having some people help him (two guys named Jeff). My sister, the boys, and I are going to be going to the shop to spend part of the day and eat dinner. Grandma baked a cake and we are making a special dinner. Paul, Peter, and I went over to the new house and played in the backyard for awhile. We are very excited about the new house. We then went to the shop and met the rest of the family there. We ate dinner, opened gifts, and ate cake and ice cream. It was not anything major, but it was nice to be able to spend time together as a family. We all had a great time. Maybe I will have pictures of the new house for you this weekend. On Sunday, some of the men from church are coming over and helping us move our things over to the house. It will still take some time before we are completely moved over. Can I help grandma?Yum! It tastes like chocolate!Okay mom, let's go see grandpa.Do I get to eat too?All of us together. The cake.

101 Things NOT To Do To A Cell Phone

Working in a cell phone repair shop, you learn about different things that can happen to cell phones. Some of these things I never knew COULD happen to cell phones. I am going to start a list of stories we hear about cell phones brought into our shop.

101 Things NOT To Do To A Cell Phone:

1. Don't talk on your cell phone while standing in the rain.
2. Don't have cell phones in your pocket while riding water rides at an amusement park.
3. Don't jump into swimming pools with cell phones in your pockets.
4. Don't drip water on your cell phones to turn your cell phone on.
5. Don't run over your cell phone with a fork lift.
6. Don't throw your cell phone across the room or out of a car window when mad.
7. Don't drop your cell phone when working on the roof or tree.
8. Don't drop your cell phone in water, coffee, or the toilet.
9. Don't wash your cell phone in the washing machine.
10. Don't wiggle the charger plug to get your cell phone to charge.
11. Don't oatmeal on your cell phone.
12. Don't drop your cell phone in a bowl of ice cream.
13. Don't forget to take it out of your pocket while sitting down and wearing tight pants.
14. Don't forget to take it out of your pocket while wrestling with someone so you don't break your cell phone in half.
15. Don't run over your cell phone with your car.
16. Don't step on your cell phone.
17. Be careful not to drop your cell phone too many times.
18. Don't let your cell phone slide down the dash into a drink while driving and coming to a fast stop.
19. Be careful what you put in your purse, as you can clog your speaker phone with something like chocolate and make-up.
20. Don't leave your battery in when your cell phone gets wet. Take it out right after. Then don't put it back in until you have someone look at it.

These are all REAL experiences. People came in the shop with these things wrong with their cell phones. I could not believe what I was hearing on some of these stories. I never knew these things could happen to your cell phone, but I guess anything can happen. I will continue the list as I hear more stories.

Miniature Golf

Today my sister and I went to the shop early to spend sometime with the family and so we could go do something about everyone got off work. There is a miniature golf place right next to where we work and we decide to play a round and then order pizza. Paul loved it! This was his first time and he had so much fun (of course with Daddy's help). The weather was cool, but warm. We enjoyed our family time together. Peter was a little fuzzy and grandma had to hold him (and she just hated that). We had a nice time relaxing. Here are some pictures and some movies of our adventure.

Update On The Shop

God has been very good to us even though we have had some mishaps. We have been able to fix most of the phones that have come to the shop. This has been very exciting for Joshua and my dad. The mishaps that have happened are that we did not have everything that we needed in the shop when we opened it. The things that we did order were either slow in being shipped or were sent to the wrong address and then shipped back to where it came from. This has been very frustrating to us. We have had to turn away alot of people because we did not have the part to fix their phone or we did not have any phones to sell them. Please continue to pray for us as we are establishing this business and that we would be able to support ourselves. We want God's will done for our lives as well as the shop.

New Shop Ornament

I forgot to add these pictures yesterday. My dad use to lift me up to high places when I was Peter's age. I have a picture of me on the shelf by my stuffed animals. I try not to be too afraid because they are boys and I know that they are going to do worse things than that. I did think that he was cute up there.

God Is Good!!!!

Today we were suppose to be open for business, but we have had some set backs such as not all our inventory coming in and our hooks to display things. So we had to set back the opening to Monday. Please be praying for us as we open on that day! God has continued to provide for us in ways that we could not even imagine. Today we have had a few customer come into the shop. We were able to fix their phones with what we did have in the shop. We were so excited about making money on a day that we were not open. Thank you Lord for Your goodness that You show to those You love!

The New Shop

Here are some pictures of the new shop. I could not take pictures of what it looked like before this because I have not been feeling good. My dad and Joshua have spent alot of time the past two days working on the shop for the Grand Opening. The big room is going to be seperated by shelves. The one side is for the CPR (Cell Phone Repair) and the other side is for the violin shop. The back room is going to serve for a rest area, eating area, and play area. There are also two bathrooms. The CPR side of the big room is going to be split off again- the front part is the show room (where we will have our customers enter in) and the back part where the work will be done. On the violin shop side, we are just going to be doing retail (selling product) and rentals. We are very excited about our new shop. Across the way you can see another cell phone store, we are hoping that we can obtain business by people seeing us across the street. Please continue to pray for us as we find out God's will and that He would continually bless the shop.

This picture is outside of the CPR side of the shop. This is the only door leading into the building.
This is the violin side of the shop. The lettering was just put up today. I know the picture is not very good. The top part says Violas, Violins, and Cellos. The bottom picture is of the name of the shop.
These are the signs that are advertising for the shop outside. They were also just put up today. These are the signs that everyone will be able to see.
This is the CPR side of the shop. My dad and Joshua built these walls and they turned out really great. We are very pleased with it.
And no opening would be complete without my mom's famous cookies. You don't believe me, ask the guys who are helping us open up and training.
The guy in the picture is Jason. He works at a shop in Chicago and is here for 4 weeks to train us.
This is the waiting room and the wall inbetween the two show rooms. The next picture is of the violin shop.
This is of the work area for Joshua when he gets into his repair work. He can't wait to get back into his violin work.
This is the work area for the CPR shop and also our office.
We also have an area set up so that the boys and I can come and visit once in awhile. The room is also set up as an eating room and a resting area. As you can see all the toys we have set out for Paul to play with.
This is the temporary sign for the door leading into the cell phone store and the sign that we had made for the outside sidewalk.
Here are some cute pictures of Paul. He was watching the big machine that was putting up our signs.

Paul's Tools

We went over to the shop the other day to see what it would be like having both of the boys over there. The back room is set up as a nursery/eating place. Paul loves to be where the action is(and he is not afraid of anything!). He loves to watch what people are doing. We had to close off where my dad and Joshua were working so he would not get hurt. Paul found some tools lying on the ground and started to play with them. He loves to bang them against things and pretend that he is fixing something. Here are some movies of him doing just that.
