Our 4th of July

Our 4th started on Sunday as our church had a picnic in the afternoon. I have not been out of the house much since having Fay and I really wanted to go out and fellowship with friends. So we were able to drag everyone to the picnic. My sister took Fay and held and cared for her so that I would not have to. Grandma Cathy helped with the boys feeding them and also took them to go and play in the bouncers that they had there. Joshua took care of Stella, so it was very relaxing for me. We had a great time playing, talking and eating with everyone. At one point in the afternoon the clouds started to roll in and it started to down pour. We all scrambled around gathering kids and headed to the car. Except for the rain, it was a great relaxing afternoon.

On the 4th we decided to have a nice quite day at home relaxing and playing. In the morning the boys wanted to play in the water (sprinkler). They love to pull toys in and get them all wet and run through the sprinklers. I had bought a swim suit for Stella and put her in it. She did not mind it for the most part, only when it came to crawling around did she complain. She did not really like the water either. Stella preferred to stay where mommy and daddy were. We all took naps in the afternoon, did an easy lunch, and read to the boys. I bought the cutest shirt (matching) for the girls. They are pink and say red, white, and cute. The boys also had patriotic shirts. So of course I had to get some pictures of those.

Our Fourth of July

Our fourth of July started with us getting ready to go to church. We had a nice service, in which Stella slept the whole time. Then we headed home and made lunch and ate together as a family. We were all super tired and decided to take naps. After getting up, we all headed out the door to a picnic that our church was having. It was really nice to get to talk to more people and get to know them. The boys had fun playing ball and football and bubbles. The weather was not too hot and it cooled off when the sun was going down. We stayed for a couple of hours and then went back home and the boys were able to play out in the front. They sure did go to bed good for all the exercise they got. We did not go and see the fireworks that night (when you become a parent going to be at a good time sounds great :)). We hope you all had a great 4th of July.
P.S. The dessert I made for us to have after lunch. It turned out great and was easy to make.

Hanging With The Bookmans

We did not get to celebrate the 4th of July because of the rain. So we got together with the Bookmans (a family from our church). We had to fire them off at their house because its legal there. We had a great time. The boys loved the fireworks. This is the first time that they have seen them. Peter loves lights and loved looking at them. We had to be careful about letting him get too close :). Here are some pictures and movies of our day. The group playing with the glow rings. How to keep track of Peter in the dark. Peter and the glow rings. The glow rings were a big hit. Paul looking at the fireworks. Playing with sparklers. having fun. Grandpa and Peter. Grandpa held the boys and did the fireworks with them.
This one (the second movie) was of a hummer that was supose to run around and then blow up. My mom was very excited about that one (she does not like hummers). It did not work that well, but we all enjoyed it.

This next one down is of Peter. You can't see him very well, but he is fasinated by the glow sticks. He can't decided which one to pick up first.

This one is so cute. I call it Peter's happy dance.

Our July 4th

We did not do much for the 4th. My parents and Joshua had the day off and they were so excited about it. My parents loved playing with the boys. The Bookman's invited us over to their house for the 4th to play and watch the fireworks. As soon as we laid the boys down for their afternoon nap, it started to rain. Then it would quit and then start up again. When we usually get rain its for a short time, but this time it seemed to drag on and would mist too. When we got to the Bookman's it was raining there too. We stayed inside for most of the time playing games. Paul went out with grandpa and had fun playing. Needless to say, he was all wet. We were going to roast hot dogs outside, but the rain forced us in. It was alot of fun being their with them, Our pastor's family, and a missionary couple. We sat around talking and eating. I would have liked to gone outside, but it was cold, too cold. We ended up going home early because the boys were getting tired and it was getting late. It did not seem like the 4th of July because it was not like we usually celebrate it. We did not get to see any fireworks. We were blessed because on the way home we saw some. That was about it. We had a blessed time spending it with friends and fellowshiping.

Happy 4th of July

We wanted to wish you all a happy 4th of July. We hope that you all have a blessed day whether you are traveling, spending time with family, or just by yourselves. My mom loves holidays such as these. Not only does she get to spend time as a family, but she loves to be able to honor those who have served our country. My grandfather, Paul Eugene Thirion, served in the army in special forces. He was a very smart man and is missed very much. My family would go down to the Riverside National Cemetery and decorate his grave and then go to a concert put on by the Riverside County Philharmonic. We loved those concerts. We are going to miss not being able to do that this year. Thank you to all those who fought to keep our country safe. We would not be here enjoying our freedoms if it were not from you. God bless each and everyone of you.
