Daddy's Birthday

We celebrated Daddy's birthday alittle on the actual day, but we waited until the 21st of May to really celebrate as we headed down to Pueblo (about an hour and a half drive) to go to an airshow. The boys love birthdays and they love being able to help open the presents as well. Over the weekend Paul and Peter were playing and Peter hit his mouth on his bed. He came to me crying and when I looked his mouth was covered with blood and he had cut his top gum open. He is doing okay, but we still wanted to have him checked out by a doctor. Never a dull moment around here!!!! After taking him to the doctor's and finding out that he did not have to have stitches (Thank God), we were able to recover from that accident. Peter was very swollen and it hurt to eat and when he bumped it. Its pretty much back to normal. We did not end up going to Pueblo after all. Joshua decided that he wanted to go fly as he wants to renew his license so that he can fly more. The Lord blessed us with money for him to do that, so he is very excited! He spent time with us in the morning and then went flying during the boys nap time. Joshua sure did have alot of fun. I think he had a great birthday despite the fact that he is so close to turning 30!

Mother's Day

Our mother's day was very calm and quiet. First of all, Paul, Joshua, and my mom ended up getting sick the week before, so none of us really felt like celebrating. We had celebrated early because we were suppose to have a couple of families over on the day, but so many things went wrong on Saturday. First, I decided to clean out our attic before the baby came and it was such a big project that we were all very tired (and its only half done!). Then our kitchen drain backed up and my dad and Joshua spent many hours trying to get it unclogged. By the end of the night we decided to cancel. My sister was the only one that made it to church that day. It felt good just to have a day of rest. We cooked hamburgers and were able to enjoy the nice weather outside. Then many of us took a nap. We did not do much more the whole day. Sorry I don't have any pictures. Hope you all had a wonderful day.

Stella's First Hair Cut

Stella got her bangs trimmed the other day. Partly because they were in her eyes and because I was going to take her to get her pictures done for her first birthday. I asked Grandma Marie to cut her hair (she also cut the boys hair for the first time). I think that Stella looks so cute and it keeps her hair out of her face.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Happy birthday to the best daddy ever! Thanks for all the things you do for us and taking the time to do those different things. God blessed us when he gave us you for a daddy. We love you!!!

Awana Wrap-Up

On May 4 we had our awards ceremony for Awanas. I am so proud of Paul. He was able to finish his book and has grown so much this year. Paul was able to participate in the activities as well as play the games without my being there. We had such a great year that I am hoping to take Paul and Peter and help out again. Sorry the pictures are blurry. Our camera was not working and these were taken with Joshua's cell phone.

Here is a picture of Paul in his vest with all his patches:

Our Anniversary Trip

Well, we ended up having to postpone of trip until the next weekend because of a chemical spill that they had in a town near-by. Joshua and I were able to get away the weekend after that. We were both very excited to be able to spend some time together without interruptions. Joshua had to work until Thursday because he was going to be taking Thursday, Friday, and Saturday off. I was very excited as I packed for our trip. I was busy until we left on Thursday packing and getting everything ready. My mom came home early from the shop to watch the kids so that we could leave at a good time. Joshua and I had a couple of errands to run before heading out of town to Monument. Its about 10 to 15 mins away from home, but it was still nice to be able to get away for awhile. Joshua and I drove around a couple of lakes around there and stopped at an ice cream shop before eating lunch and heading to Castlerock. We have lived here for about 3 year (in July), but we have never been able to go exploring. So part of this trip was for us to look for some fun places to take the kids. We went to the outlet malls at Castlerock and looked around for awhile before heading back to Monument and checking into our hotel. Joshua and I were able to stay at Sundance Mountain Lodge. It was a nice hotel and was not crowded at all. We ate dinner at the lodge and then just relaxed in our room before heading for bed.
The second day found us heading out for Pueblo right after breakfast. We did get to sleep in this morning (very uncommon) and had a late start getting out, but it was so nice not being on a schedule. The drive to Pueblo reminded us so much of California and the deserts out there that we were so glad that we did not move there. It was hot too. Our first stop was the Pueblo air museum. This place is worth the drive there and Joshua had a great time. At first we were looking by ourselves as they were getting ready for a special event taking place the next night. Then we asked how to get into the next hanger and this older guy offered to show us. He was tired from the navy and Joshua had a great time talking to him. We spent most of our time there, which was fine with me. He also told us of a restaurant right next door that was built right by the runway. Of course we had to go there. We enjoyed ourselves and it made us miss the times in California when we went to the place there that was right by the airport. After eating, we drove by the Pueblo zoo and park. That is also a great place to take kids. We will definitely be back to Pueblo. We decided to head back to Monument and headed to our room where we rested and waited for the traffic to calm down by the springs before heading to the springs for dinner. For a special treat, I took Joshua to Olive Garden for our anniversary dinner. He had never been there before. We had a great time, although we were both stuffed from our filling breakfast and lunch. Then we headed back to the hotel.

The next day we were up early as Joshua had to get ready for a school event to advertise for the violin shop. When we got home and ate breakfast, Joshua had to rush to the shop to pack up his violins and other supplies in our car and headed out with my parents to the place the concert was held. I was able to meet up later with Joshua to watch the concert and later to go out to eat. My sister and her friend watched the kids for us. We did not make that many sales, but we passed out alot of cards. The main reason was that we are still "new" in town and not alot of people knew about us. Joshua and I ate at 3 Margaritas. The food was really good. We had a blessed anniversary and it was great to be able to spend time together- just the two of us.

Happy Mother's Day!

"Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all."
-Proverbs 31: 28-29

We hope that you all have a blessed Mother's Day. The Lord has given a special job to mother's everywhere and we hope that you all know how special you are. May God bless you today and always.

Family Project- Part 4

Just before Peter's birthday in April, we finished up the jungle gym for the boys. Joshua was in California during this time, visiting his family as his brother passed away. The boys have loved working on this project with Grandpa and they especially loved being able to climb up and go down the slides. It was a nice day except for the wind. The jungle gym turned out so great and I am sure that the kids will have alot of fun going down the slides and playing with all their toys under the platform.

Easter Sunday

When we woke up on Easter, we were met with this:This is not that uncommon in Colorado.

Then before we left, I took some pictures of the kids:

After church, we spent that rest of the time getting ready for our company. When they arrived we ate a yummy meal and enjoyed a time of fellowship. We also sang some praise songs and their daughter and Joshua played their violins. We also enjoyed being able to talk together and learn more about their family. What a blessed Easter we had with friends and family. Thank you God for sending Your Son to die on the cross and rise again.
