Summer Days

Yesterday was very, very hot and my mom decided to take the boys outside and let them play in the water with her. They had a great time filling our little pool and getting one another wet. Peter enjoyed himself until he got cold then he liked sitting in his chair and warming up. Paul had a great time running around and then warming up, then running around again. It was a great way of cooling off in the heat.

Wild Flowers

These are some wild flowers that grow in our back yard. They are so beautiful to look at and I love that they come back every Spring after our cold winter.

Paul and Peter

Doing what little boys do best, playing outside and getting dirty. Paul did get hurt while we were playing outside on his head and elbow. He recovered soon after we put a band aid on his arm and kisses his boo boos. I love the pictures of Peter that I took. Sometimes it feels like he poses for the camera.

Preparing For Baby- Part 3

The baby's room/guest room. We have been having fun decorating the room getting it ready for our little girl. We still don't know when she is going to come. The midwife says that I can have her any day now. I am having some pain (contractions), but nothing really heavy or to think that I am in labor. The midwife came over and felt my stomach and said that it felt like I was having contractions because my stomach was so tense. I have also been dilating. We just keep hoping and knowing that God knows the best time for our baby to be born. We will let you know when that day comes. Here are pictures of the baby's new room.

Grandma Marie and boys

Here are some pictures and movies of my mom spending time with the boys. Paul and Peter enjoy going on You Tube and watching animal, monster truck, and airplane videos. They really get into it and its cute how intently they watch the movies.

Paul and Peter

My mom had gotten this play mat for the boys awhile ago and they did enjoy playing with it even though they were alittle young for it at the time. Paul and Peter are just getting to be the right age to start playing with it and it is so cute seeing them laying on the floor running the cars up and down the mat.

Our New Swing Set

My parents brought home this swing set this weekend. They found it for free at a yard sale. We were so excited as we have been wanting to buy a swing set for the boys. My parents and Joshua set up the swing set while the boys were sleeping. Paul and Peter were so excited when they got up to see the new swing set. The rain did put a damper on it though as we got some thunderstorms coming through. As soon as the rain stopped, we took the boys outside and let them play. Everyone had a good time, but we brought them in before it started to rain again. Here are some pictures and movies of everyone playing.

Daddy's Birthday

The Day Before:
We decided to celebrate Joshua's birthday a day early as we have church tomorrow and also have been invited over to a friends' house after the boys naps. So this morning I brought down the presents and cards and the boys had fun helping opening the presents and playing with them.

Joshua got some money to go to Woodcraft so after breakfast we took the boys down with Joshua. He loved being able to go there and look at all the tools and wood supplies.
Then we had to go home to feed the boys lunch. On the way home, we saw some trucks and tractors at work at a construction site. The boys loved watching them work. After the boys ate, we put them down for a nap and we took a nap too. Then my parents and sister came home and everyone set up the swing set for the boys. When the boys got up and were outside playing on the swing set, my dad made pizza for dinner. We also had root beer floats (one of Joshua's favorite desserts). Everything was so good!

Paul wanted to help Grandma make brownies for Daddy's birthday and they had a great time making them together. Paul, Peter, and Daddy all loved eating the left-overs after Grandma was done.
Then it was time to bath the boys and get them ready for Church. We all had a wonderful time celebrating Daddy's birthday.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Daddy's birthday is here again, and he turned 27 (shh! don't tell him, he thinks he is getting too old). We are so glad that we are able to celebrate Daddy's birthday another year. We sure do enjoy having him around. We hope for many more years to celebrate Daddy's birthday and to show how much we love him. Thanks for being such a special Daddy. Happy Birthday, Daddy!!!!!

Update On Us

It's been awhile since I have posted about how we are doing, so I thought that I would do one before the new baby comes. So here is how we have been doing:

Joshua and Amy: We are still getting ready for the new baby and constantly switching things around and organizing better (poor Joshua has all these project to do). I (Amy) am starting to feel the end of pregnancy pains and tiredness. I am doing well, just tired and lacking energy and it is very hard to get up from the floor. Joshua continues to be busy with the shop and also the many projects that I have planned for him. We are hoping that the baby will not plan on coming this weekend as Joshua's birthday is the 16th. We would not mind if the baby comes in May, but not until sometime next week (the baby will be 37 weeks by then). I continue to be amazed about how much time I have before the birth (only 25 more days!!!!!), but I am very excited about the new baby.

Paul and Peter: They love the warmer weather and being able to play outside. Paul is so cute, he tells me that he thinks its warm outside when he wants to go outside and that he wants to eat outside (something that we started this year with the boys). Last year Paul did not understand that during the summer he did not need a coat on to go outside, now he tells me that he does not need a jacket. Its funny what kids understand or how they think about different things. Peter is saying more words and is starting to communicate more to us. He also loves being able to be in a big boy's bed. I have not made any process with potty training Peter (though I am not in that much of a hurry). Peter is interested since Paul has been potty trained. The boys keep us very active and busy. We would appreciate your prayers on God's wisdom and guidance on raising our boys for Him.

Auntie Mar: She continues to be a BIG help for me especially since I am near the end and trying to be careful with what I lift and being tired. Auntie Mar often will take the boys out for a walk or to play outside and let me get things done that need to get done before the boys naps. She still cleans the house, cooks diner, helps me with the boys, and helps at the shop (yes, I know that I am spoiled). Auntie Mar goes to the shop during the boys naps and then she comes home in time to help me feed the boys dinner. We have been enjoying having Auntie Mar around to help fill in the gaps and help with different things around the house. We don't know what we would do without her help.

Grandpa and Grandma: I wish that you could hear Paul and Peter say the words Grandpa and Grandma. I will have to try to record it (it is so cute). It has been a great experience having my parents around and the boys getting to see their grandparents everyday. We have truly been blessed even with Joshua's parents that the boys are old enough to remember who they are and ask when they are going to come out and see us again. My parents love being grandparents and playing with the kids before and after work. The new thing that they do with the boys is keep lose change around and give it to the boys to put in their piggy banks. The boys love to put the change in and then show grandpa how it makes noise. My parents also love to bring home new toys for the boys and interact with them while they play with the new toys. Otherwise my parents are still busy with the shop.

Please continue to pray for us and our safety at the shop as we have had our shop broken into. We lost about 50 cell phones (all around $100 or less) and had to replace our glass door. We know that times are getting tough for everyone, so we pray that God will continue to protect us and provide for our every need. Thanks for all your prayers and staying in touch with us. God Bless.

Our Mother's Day

Our Mother's Day started out alittle on the cold side, but then warmed up to be a beautiful day in the 80's. We went to church in the morning, then came home and cooked hamburgers and ate outside. The boys had a wonderful time running around and eating outside (one of their new activities). They were very disappointed in having to go inside to take a nap. The rest of us stayed outside enjoying the warmer weather. We went inside and I took a nap while my parents and sister went on a hike. Then I got this bright idea to switch Peter into a regular bed, it ended up being more work than I thought (but I am glad that it is done). We had to rearrange the room and furniture. Joshua took me to Wal-mart to buy some containers for the boys room so that I could finish the boys room the next day. We had a very blessed Mother's Day and it was very relaxing the spend the day with family.
