Airshow
We took the boys to an airshow for the first time in a long time. We were so glad to have Grandpa Bill there to go with us. My parents and sister went too until they had to go to work. They took Stella with them because it was really loud there. We did not stay there the whole time, but we had alot of fun (and sunburned). The boys really enjoyed seeing the airplanes.

The Boys' First Airplane Ride
Joshua took the boys on their first airplane ride a few weeks ago. Joshua wants to fly again so much, but it costs alot of money (and that doesn't come easy when you have alot of kids). At first the boys were scared, but Paul enjoyed getting to ride in a "real" airplane. Here are some pictures that Joshua took. I was not there.

More Airplanes
Today was another beautiful day, before more snow comes. Joshua and I decided to take the boys to the airport and let them walk around and see the airplanes. The boys had alot of fun looking at the airplanes and playing in the sand. Paul was trying to follow the airplanes as they flew in the sky :). Then we went to the hangers and saw more airplanes. Joshua like to check on the price of flying whenever we go by airports. I know that he would love to get back into flying, I just wish that it was not so expensive. We had a great day at the airport as a family.

Airplanes
The other day, grandma got a great idea about taking the boys outside and making wooden airplanes with them. The boys love tools and were very excited about making the airplanes. They played with them outside and had a great time.

Homemade Airplanes
My mom has been collecting Lego's for the boys to play with as they grow up. Joshua enjoys being able to do this with them (as long as Paul is not tearing down faster than Joshua can build). Joshua is very creative when it come to Lego's. Here is an airplane that he built.

The Air Force Academy
On Saturday we went with a family, The Tossells, from our church to go see the Air Force Academy. The husband worked there and it was great to see all of it from someone who knows about it. We did not get to see all of it because it is such a big campus. The views are beautiful as you drive in and it would be very easy to get lost if you don't know what you are doing. We went to go see the chapel. It was very beautiful in there. They have many different places of worship. We got to see a Jewish Temple and they had many things on display. There was even tile on the floor brought in from Jerusalem. It was beautiful out when we went. The weather had warmed up and the sun was just about to set. We went went to see the office where he worked. It was very interesting. On the way back to where we parked, Paul had fun looking at the airplanes on display there. He loves to point to the airplanes. He got the same kind of love his father has for airplanes. It was also interesting to see all the cadets running and walking around outside. After we got to our cars, we decided to go out to eat. We had alot of fun and a great time of fellowship. It was a great experience. I hope we can go there again to see what else is there. You really can't see it and enjoy it in a day.

Solo Restaurant
Yesterday Joshua and I went on a date by ourselves while my mom, dad, and sister watched the boys. Usually we take Peter with us where ever we go, so this was quite a treat. We have been wanting to go to this one restaurant that was built around an airplane. We stopped by once, but have not been able to go to it. The airplane that is in the restaurant is called the "princess." We had a wonderful time just the two of us and took lots of pictures. The website for the restaurant is http://www.solosrestaurant.com/, if you are interested in seeing it.
These are views of it from the front entrance.
These are some more views from around the building.

Here are some views from inside the restaurant.

Here are some pictures of inside the plane.

This picture is of a guy that would be working on the plane when it was used. This plane was used for refueling other planes and that's what this guy was doing.
We had to wait when we arrived because a huge tour group got there before us. This is our "boarding pass" for when we were to be seated. On the back was a little history about the airplane and on the front it said that we were going to Italy. It stuck us very funny because we have talked about going to Europe and especially Italy because that were all the famous violin makers came from!
We had a great time and hope to be able to eat there again (but maybe not too soon because it was expensive). It was great to just be the two of us.
